Sound that evokes a feeling of unease and possible fear, like there is someone (or something) unknown in the darkness, and it’s not friendly.
A camera picks up movement and triggers sounds in Max/MSP. There are three layers of sound:
- The base layer is a low humming that plays continuously. It is a deep ominous sound.
- The second layer sounds like footsteps echoing, to suggest being in a large room and having someone else there. This sound only plays when there is no movement to give people the feeling that they’re only safe when they’re moving.
- A third sound is a whine that sounds distant. This sound plays repeatedly with a small interval between each whine and is turned on and off by movement.
